Cheap for a reason
Good location and room size
Very worn tired room, and the general appearance is of a run down unloved building. I didn’t like having to remove the pillow slips on two of the pillows because they were inside out or tuck the sheet in because it was only half fitted. Housekeeping appears sloppy

This would not put us off returning as it's a smashing venue in a great location and very reasonable
We have used this Hotel often and we know it's rather rundown and in great need of modernisation! The location is smashing as is the huge bedrooms, the fact you can choose to eat in the bar or go more upmarket and eat in Oscars restaurant! We usually stay when we've purchased tickets for a gig at the Backstage as it let's you park up, settle in relax with a drink in the lounge, go to your room and get cleaned up, downstairs for dinner and go and enjoy the show, without having to step outside! Once the show is over you can either go for a nightcap or go up to your room! Breakfast as always is lovely, plenty of choice from the buffet continental to the table served hot menu! The staff are always very pleasant and willing to help!
The whole of the downstairs was cold, our room was cosy but the lock on our door was dodgy (we reported that to the reception staff) and our heated towel rail in the bathroom did not work! We had hot water coming out of both taps in our bathroom sink! The paper was falling off the walls and the carpet in the hall was badly ripped in places which could be dangerous, as you could easily trip on it! The staff in the restaurant were lovely but one of the waiters took our drinks order wrong, so we asked him to change it (which he did!) It was very obvious from the dirty looks we received from the bar member that she was not best pleased!! Oh and the coffee is vile, especially at breakfast and I really enjoy that first cup of coffee in the morning but unfortunately this was just a 'no no' please buy better coffee!!
